Jesus’ words have exposed dishonest questioning; today they reveal His own place in the conflict unfolding in Jerusalem.

Jesus does not present Himself merely as another messenger in the vineyard. In the parable, servants come first, and then the owner sends his beloved son.
More Than Another Prophet.
The sequence distinguishes the son from the servants who preceded him. Jesus places the present conflict inside a larger history of God sending messengers and being resisted.
The Rejected Son.
The son’s rejection anticipates what is happening around Jesus. The leaders’ opposition is not evidence that He lacks authority; within the parable, it reveals the tenants’ rebellion.
The Cornerstone.
Jesus joins the parable to Psalm 118. Human rejection cannot veto God’s action. The stone the builders discard becomes central to what God is building.
Authority That Exposes the Heart.
Jesus’ authority is not merely institutional or rhetorical. His words uncover how people respond when God’s claim threatens control, status, and self-justification.
Tomorrow, face the assumption that endless questioning can remain neutral when the evidence has already become personally demanding.
Consider this.
